Can Can Wonderland is a super fun and epic one-stop destination for mini golf in Minneapolis or St Paul. Besides mini golf, Can Can has ping-pong, food, and boozy milkshakes! Can Can is located in St. Paul, Minnesota in an old canning warehouse that manufactured cans for Campbell’s, Carnation, and Spam to name a few. The cool thing about Can Can and the Twin Cities, in general, is how artist focused we are. According to their website, Can Can is the first arts-based public benefit corporation in Minnesota.
So, as soon as you walk in you’ll find artsy things everywhere from large spray-painted murals to music, and artist-designed mini golf holes.
Mini golf in the twin cities
We met a couple friends and even though neither one of us is good at mini golf, or golf, in general, we had a great time.
Put your name on the wait list (we went on a Saturday afternoon and had to wait about an hour) and then hit up the bar for some food and drinks. Their drink menu is quite extensive and includes inventive cocktails, malts, slushies, milkshakes, and floats. We ordered the Monkey Business and Dreamsicle. We definitely could have split one as I don’t think we even put a dent in either one!
We had already eaten lunch so we didn’t try any of the food, but they offer nachos, pizza, sandwiches etc and everything we saw looked really good!
While you’re waiting to play golf, or after you’ve hit some balls around you can meander their selection of arcade games. They have pinball, air hockey, ping pong, and this ridiculously fun blow ball game that we got stuck playing for a long time. I’d never played before and it was hilarious.
Before you know it, it’s time to play some golf!
Each hole is created by a different artist so has a different theme and feel to it. It’s totally random, but so much fun.
Some of the holes are really hard (relatively speaking, I don’t golf) in that you have to put the ball through things or around certain objects…some of those things move etc etc.
I know I know…
That’s how mini golf works.
At one point you putt a ball up this giant Mastadon’s butt while it’s making noise…haha.
Then it’s on to Grandma’s living room…
My favorite was the tin man 🙂 I watched Wizard of Oz at least once a day when I was little.
The last hole is super long and spans probably the entire length of the course. Though I finished that one in fewer strokes then some of the other holes…I’m looking at you, tornado.
Finished with a grand total of 65, hahaha yikes!. Though the Grand Slam is one of the toughest, my childhood baseball skills came out and dominated.
I think we can all say that Can Can Wonderland is the best mini golf in the twin cities! If you wanna join in on the fun, it is conveniently located at 755 Prior Ave N, St Paul and their phone number is 651-925-2261. Their hours are a bit varied depending on the day of the week. They are closed Monday – Wednesday and reopen Thursday from 4 pm to 11 pm. Friday hours are 11 am – 1 am, Saturday from 10 am – 1 am, and Sunday from 10 am – 8 pm. It is 21+ after 9 pm, so keep that in mind if your kids are going.
